FAQ
What is RM? How is 1RM different from 5RM?
RM stands for Repetition Maximum. 1RM is the heaviest weight you can lift for a single clean rep; 5RM is the heaviest you can lift for 5 reps. This tool converts your 1RM into training loads for any rep range to plan your sessions.
Which is more accurate, Epley or Brzycki?
Epley: 1RM = w×(1+0.0333×r); Brzycki: 1RM = w×36/(37-r). Both are reliable in the 3-10 rep range, and error grows with more reps. This tool shows both plus an average for reference.
How do I estimate 1RM from a weight and reps?
Switch to 'Estimate 1RM' mode, enter the weight you completed and the reps, and the tool back-calculates your 1RM with the selected formula, then builds the full 1-15RM table.
Should I train to failure at the RM-table weight?
The RM table gives the theoretical max for the target reps. In practice leave 1-2 reps in reserve (RIR). For a set of 5, use the 5RM load but stop at rep 4-5 to avoid training to failure every session.
