FAQ

What is a Unix timestamp?

A Unix timestamp is the number of seconds since January 1, 1970 UTC. 10-digit is seconds, 13-digit is milliseconds.

How to distinguish seconds vs milliseconds timestamps?

10-digit numbers (~1.7 billion) are second-level timestamps. 13-digit numbers (~1.7 trillion) are millisecond-level. Using the wrong unit causes date errors.

Will timestamps overflow?

32-bit systems overflow on January 19, 2038. Modern 64-bit systems support timestamps up to 292 billion years from now.

Why does my timestamp show the wrong time?

This may be a timezone issue. Select the correct timezone (Local/UTC) in the tool.

Is this tool safe?

Yes. All conversions happen locally in your browser. No data is uploaded to any server.
