📖 What is Tabata Training?

Tabata training is a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) method developed by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata in 1996. The classic Tabata protocol is: 20 seconds of all-out exercise + 10 seconds of rest, repeated 8 times for a total of 4 minutes. Research has shown this short, intense workout effectively improves both aerobic and anaerobic capacity.

How to Use

1. Select a preset or customize your work/rest times and rounds. 2. Click "Start Training" — a countdown prepares you before the workout begins. 3. The screen turns green during work phases and blue during rest phases. Follow the audio cues to switch exercises. 4. After completing all rounds, a training summary is displayed automatically.

❓ FAQ

Is Tabata suitable for beginners?

Classic Tabata (20/10×8) is very intense. Beginners should start with gentler settings like 30s work + 15s rest × 4 rounds. Gradually increase intensity as your fitness improves.

Can I do Tabata every day?

Daily Tabata is not recommended. Due to the extreme intensity, aim for 2-3 sessions per week with at least 48 hours of rest between sessions for full recovery. Use other days for low-intensity cardio or strength training.

Does Tabata help with weight loss?

Yes. Tabata is a form of HIIT that creates an "afterburn effect" (EPOC), continuing to burn calories for up to 24 hours post-workout. Combined with a proper diet, Tabata is a highly effective fat-loss method.

Do I need to warm up?

We strongly recommend a 5-10 minute warm-up (dynamic stretching, light jogging, etc.) before training, and a 5-minute cool-down stretch afterward to reduce injury risk.
