FAQ

What is spaced repetition?

Spaced repetition is based on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. It schedules reviews right before you are about to forget, maximizing retention with minimal study time. Research shows it can reduce study time by 50%.

What do ratings 0-5 mean?

0=Complete blackout, 1=Recalled with extreme difficulty, 2=Recalled with hesitation, 3=Recalled with some effort, 4=Recalled easily, 5=Perfect recall. Higher ratings produce longer intervals.

How does SM-2 calculate intervals?

Initial intervals: 1 day β†’ 6 days, then multiplied by the easiness factor (EF). Rating β‰₯3 increases EF (longer intervals), rating <3 decreases EF and resets interval to 1 day.
