Pitch Selection Guide

  • 0.5:12 – 2:12: Flat / low-slope roofs, require special waterproofing membranes
  • 2:12 – 4:12: Low-slope roofs, suitable for asphalt shingles and metal roofing
  • 4:12 – 9:12: Standard residential roofs, the most common pitch range
  • 9:12 – 12:12: Steep roofs, excellent drainage but harder to install
