Are my PDF files uploaded to any server?
No. This tool processes everything entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your PDF files never leave your device, are never uploaded to any server, and are not stored or logged.
What PDF formats are supported?
All standard PDF files (PDF 1.0-2.0) are supported, including documents with English, Chinese, numbers, and special characters. The tool uses the industry-standard PDF.js library.
Can it extract text from scanned PDFs?
This tool extracts text from the text layer within PDF files. If your PDF is a scanned image without a text layer, text extraction will not work. Use OCR tools for scanned documents.
Does the extracted text preserve formatting?
Extracted text preserves paragraph structure and line breaks, but does not retain fonts, colors, sizes, or other rich formatting.
Is there a file size limit?
We recommend PDF files up to 100MB. Larger files may cause slower parsing or memory issues in your browser.
