Celsius uses water's freezing point at 0°C and boiling point at 100°C, while Fahrenheit uses 32°F and 212°F. Conversion formulas: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9. The US uses Fahrenheit; most of Europe and Asia use Celsius.
Most home ovens have a variance of ±10-15°C. We recommend using an oven thermometer for calibration. This tool provides standard conversion values; adjust according to your oven's characteristics and recipe requirements.
Most cakes bake between 160-180°C. Sponge cakes around 170°C, cheesecakes with water bath at 150-160°C, pound cakes and brownies around 175°C. Temperatures above 200°C can cause cakes to brown outside while remaining uncooked inside.
