Understanding YAML Frontmatter
YAML Frontmatter is a metadata block at the top of a Markdown file, enclosed by three dashes (---). Obsidian parses this metadata as note properties, which can be used for searching, filtering, sorting, and Dataview queries. Common best practices include: using lowercase field names, ISO 8601 date format, and array format for tags.
