This predictor uses the Riegel formula: Tโ = Tโ ร (Dโ/Dโ)^1.06, where Tโ is the known time, Dโ is the known distance, and Dโ is the predicted distance.
The Riegel formula was proposed by Peter Riegel in 1977, validated through extensive running data analysis, and is widely used by Runner's World and other authoritative organizations. The exponent 1.06 works well for most runners.
Note: Actual performance is affected by training status, weather, course elevation, and other factors. Predictions are for reference only.
