FAQ
What is a chord?
A chord is three or more notes played simultaneously. A basic triad consists of a root, third, and fifth. Different interval patterns determine the chord quality (major, minor, augmented, diminished).
Difference between major and minor chords?
Major: root to major third (4 semitones) + major third to perfect fifth (3 semitones), sounds bright. Minor: root to minor third (3 semitones) + minor third to perfect fifth (4 semitones), sounds dark.
How to use chord progressions?
Common progressions: I-V-vi-IV (C-G-Am-F), ii-V-I (Dm7-G7-Cmaj7), vi-IV-I-V (Am-F-C-G). These are widely used in popular music.
