FAQ

How do you calculate BMI in metric?

Metric BMI formula: BMI = Weight(kg) ÷ Height²(m). For example, weight 70kg, height 1.75m: BMI = 70 ÷ (1.75 × 1.75) = 22.86.

What is the normal BMI range?

WHO standard: Underweight < 18.5, Normal 18.5-24.9, Overweight 25.0-29.9, Obese ≥ 30.0. Some Asian countries use lower thresholds: Normal 18.5-22.9, Overweight 23.0-27.5, Obese ≥ 27.5.

What is the difference between BMI and body fat percentage?

BMI is based only on height and weight and cannot distinguish muscle from fat. Body fat percentage directly measures the proportion of fat in the body. Muscular individuals may have a high BMI but normal body fat.
