πŸ“– Frequently Asked Questions

What do these EQ presets mean?

Each preset optimizes EQ for specific music styles or scenarios: Rock (boosted lows and highs for power), Pop (boosted mid-highs for brightness), Jazz (natural frequency response for detail), Classical (preserves original dynamics), Electronic (enhanced low-end rhythm), Vocal Boost (highlights mid-frequency vocals), Bass Boost (significantly increased low end), Speech (optimizes voice clarity), Telephone (simulates phone audio with narrow bandwidth).

Can I customize the EQ settings?

Yes. After applying a preset, you can fine-tune each frequency band independently. The tool provides 10 frequency bands (31Hz, 62Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 16kHz) with adjustable gain (-30dB to +30dB). You can save your adjustments as a custom preset.

Will my audio be uploaded?

No. All EQ processing is done locally in your browser using the Web Audio API BiquadFilterNode. Audio data never leaves your device.

Does EQ processing reduce audio quality?

Appropriate EQ does not reduce quality, but excessive boosting of specific frequencies (especially lows and highs beyond +12dB) may cause speaker or headphone distortion. For natural sound, keep adjustments within Β±6dB. Apply presets as a starting point, then fine-tune to taste.

What audio formats are supported?

Input supports all browser-playable formats: MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, M4A, FLAC, etc. Output options: WAV (lossless, larger files) or OGG (lossy, smaller files). Choose WAV for best quality preservation.
