Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate how many boxes fit on a pallet?

Divide the pallet length and width by the box length and width (rounding down) to get boxes per row and column. The calculator compares both the 0° and 90° box orientations and keeps the better one. Then divide the max stack height by the box height to get the number of layers; multiply the two to get boxes per pallet. If the per-pallet weight exceeds the load limit, layers are reduced accordingly.

Why does box orientation affect capacity?

Cartons are usually not square. Rotating a box 90° changes how many fit along the pallet's long edge. The calculator evaluates both layouts and picks the optimal one to avoid wasted space from manual estimates.

How do feet and centimeters convert?

1 inch = 2.54 cm and 1 pound ≈ 0.4536 kg. Switching units rescales all dimensions and weights together, keeping the physical result consistent.

Should I leave a safety margin?

This tool reports the theoretical maximum. In practice leave about 5% edge margin for stretch wrap and forklift clearance, and add cushioning for fragile goods, which reduces effective layers or box count.
