How to Use the Expense Tracker
Manage your finances with the Expense Tracker in three steps:

Enter Your Expense or Income
Type a description, amount, type (expense/income), and category. Press Enter or click Add Entry to record it. -
Track Your Monthly Summary
Monthly expense and income totals update automatically, along with a category breakdown showing exactly where your money goes. -
Review and Manage Records
All entries are listed newest first. Remove any entry with the delete button. Everything is stored locally in your browser.

Why track expenses?
Expense tracking is the foundation of personal finance. By recording every transaction, you'll know where your money goes, find unnecessary spending, control budgets, and increase savings.
Is my data safe?
All data is stored in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Data persists across sessions but clearing cache will erase it.
Can I export data?
Currently data is stored in browser localStorage. Take screenshots of monthly summaries for backup. You can also export localStorage data via browser dev tools.
Can I customize categories?
Preset categories include Food, Transport, Shopping, Entertainment, Housing, and Other. Choose the closest match for accurate monthly statistics.
