FAQ

How does the container load calculator estimate the box count?

It uses a simplified 3D bin-packing estimate: for each of the 6 box orientations it divides the container's internal length, width and height by the box dimensions, takes the integer floor of each, multiplies them to get the space-based maximum, then takes the smaller of that and the weight limit (max payload ÷ box weight) as the recommended count.

What is the difference between 20ft, 40ft and 40ft High Cube?

A 20ft GP container is about 5.90×2.35×2.39 m (~33 m³). A 40ft GP is about 12.03×2.35×2.39 m (~67 m³). A 40ft High Cube adds height to ~2.70 m (~76 m³), ideal for light, bulky cargo.

Why is the recommended count lower than the space maximum?

When boxes are heavy, total weight would exceed the container's max payload, so the count is capped by weight. When boxes are light, space is the limiting factor. The tool automatically takes the smaller value.
